6 ways to keep marketing your brand during COVID-19
Businesses worldwide are taking a catastrophic hit during the COVID-19 hit.
As a knee jerk reaction, businesses may be inclined to drastically decrease marketing spend, reactionarily pivot their core marketing strategies, or cut out their marketing initiatives entirely. This could be a mistake.
Sticking to long-term marketing strategies that work is the key here. Research has shown that brands who not only stick to their marketing efforts but actually increase them in recessionary periods, come out on top, both during the economic downturn and the boom that follows. In addition, studies indicate that companies who lowered ad spend during a recession saw sales and income fall by 20-30% over the next two years as a result.
However, remaining consistent, and making small adaptations to long-term marketing strategy is no easy task.
We have rounded up 6 tips to continue marketing your brand during the COVID-19 crisis.

Is digital marketing taking over traditional marketing?
Many brands struggle with deciding which kind of marketing to do because their budget will only stretch to one or the other, not both. You're not the only one. Especially during these surreal times [thanks COVID-19], where some businesses have made the difficult choice to pull back their marketing spend or even cease their marketing efforts to survive in the short term.
The decisions that must be made are not easy: which method of marketing will give me the most bang for my buck? How do I know if my marketing is working? Will it reach my target audience?
The debate between traditional and digital marketing is long and lasting. It ultimately comes down to which one fits the needs of your brand. When trying to choose between traditional and digital marketing, let’s take a look at both.
What you need BEFORE you start using Facebook Advertising
Our Handbook to achieving Facebook Ads success is ready for you! This is NOT a guide to help you create Facebook ads and develop a paid advertising strategy. That's right, it's a little different.
Our handbook will help you check if all the key digital marketing elements are in place BEFORE you roll out your Facebook ads campaigns so you achieve the ROI you aim for.

While these are great objectives to have, any paid advertising strategy will fail if a few key elements in your digital marketing stack are not optimised. We share these with you in our Handbook.

How to get more testimonials for your business
Testimonials are one of the best ways to get social proof. They help to build trust, attract customers and increase conversions. Google reviews can help businesses improve their local rankings, i.e, local results that appear for people who search for businesses and places near their location such as “restaurants near me”.
91% of millennials trust online reviews as much as friends and family (1) and 72% of customers won’t act until they read some reviews (2). The question is, how do we ask for reviews without sounding pushy? Here are our top 5 ways to get more testimonials.
What social media platforms are right for you?
When you’re busy running your business, finding time to be active on every social media platform can feel like an impossible task.
More importantly, it can be an ineffective use of your time. Instead of spreading your resources thin; focus your efforts on one or two key platforms.
The question is, how do you choose the right ones?
Why is personal branding so important?
Personal branding may not be at the top of your business to-do list, but it should be. In a digital world where first impressions are key, the image you portray for your business can make or break the potential of new clients, returning clients, and the future of your business.
