Content Smith was established by Stephanie Waters, a communications practitioner with over 12 years' experience in the corporate, government, community, fashion and lifestyle sectors.

Content Smith’s unique service helps small to medium sized businesses grow by providing outsourced marketing support capable of nurturing an engaged community and driving sales conversions.

In 2018, Stephanie joined the Executive Team of Independent Candidate Sally Capp for the City of Melbourne Lord Mayor by-election. The team successfully secured Sally the position of Lord Mayor of Melbourne with a compelling campaign and digital marketing strategy.

Stephanie established the Unscripted Event Series in 2019 that brings together remarkable leaders to share insights and practical messages around fundamental marketing issues facing business owners and executives.

Prior to founding her own consulting business Stephanie established the Australian online retailer that offers an edit of limited edition women's shoes handcrafted by Italy's finest footwear families.

Rebecca Frendo


Rebecca was raised on the sunny shores of coastal NSW and moved to Melbourne in 2018 to chase her marketing dreams. She is inspired by big ideas and constantly hustles to get things done (checking off a to-do list is one of her favourite feelings). When she is not writing, creating, or at university, she will be working hard at cheer practice or curled up with a good book.

A young creative at heart, Rebecca has experience working with various sectors including government, defence, marketing, fitness, fashion and retail sectors. Rebecca’s goals involve working with and enabling proactive individuals to realise shared visions, whether that be business growth, strong storytelling or taking over the world (baby steps towards the latter). Her superpower is a tie between super-diligence and the ability to eat a family block of chocolate in one go.

If asked to describe her ultimate happy place, Bec would tell you she’d be on the beach, surrounded by loved ones, and of course, eating chocolate.


Selling the ‘why’: Communicating your purpose

What a day! Our inaugural event, co-hosted with our friends at Fireside, was on the topic of communicating your purpose. It was a big topic and we dove deep into this with our guest speakers Lord Mayor of Melbourne Sally Capp , Gruen’s Russel Howcroft, psychologist and media commentator Sabina Read and leading community organiser Stephen Donnelly.

We collected some great pearls of wisdom from the speakers which covered vulnerability, courage, taking risks, the power of storytelling and authenticity. Even GoT, MAFS and pep talks in the bathroom cubicle found its way into the conversation!

This is a great opportunity for someone who loves consulting with clients across the marketing lifecycle, including planning and strategy backed up with data to support your theories. You must be confident presenting in front of a range of stakeholders with a high level of attention to detail and willing to challenge them on their perceptions.

This role will suit someone who has experience across a range of marketing technology stacks such as Adobe and Marketing Cloud platforms. You must also have experience in lifecycle marketing, A/B testing and tools such as Facebook Business Manager, Google Analytics and optimisation platforms.

Day to day you will be consulting with clients about how to drive uplift then working with the Director and Project Coordinator to manage the work through to completion. You will be a data-driven person who understands that there may be more than one solution to the client's problems.


  • 2+ years agency experience in a Digital Marketing role.

  • Strong knowledge across a range of analytics tools (Google or Facebook).

  • Experience with client management and identifying their pain points.

  • An all-rounder who can manage and execute email marketing strategies, social media account management, and content creation.

  • Ability to work within a team and also autonomously.

  • Strong written and verbal skills.

You will be responsible for a small portfolio of clients, managing the communication of their SEO and pay-per-click campaigns (Google AdWords, Facebook Ads & LinkedIn Ads).

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Retrieve any collateral required for the campaign set up phase (client questionnaires, log in details, GA access etc).

  • Conduct keyword research in preparation for SEO strategy.

  • Manage the initial set up for Facebook, Linkedin, SEO and Google AdWords campaigns.

  • Act as the main point of contact for the portfolio of paid digital advertising clients, building a positive relationship as the representative for Content Smith.

  • Conduct marketing audits to identify further opportunities for your clients.

  • Prepare monthly reports and make recommendations for ongoing improvements.

  • Analyse analytics to identify areas of opportunity and utilise conversion rate optimisation tactics (i.e. A/B, split-testing etc) to squeeze as much ROI as humanly possible out of each dollar spent.

  • Educate clients on our SEO and PPC (Google AdWords, Facebook Ads & LinkedIn Ads) strategy and tactics.

  • Think on their feet and act quickly.

  • Provide an exceptional customer experience with the ability to turn a negative into a positive.


  • 2+ years agency experience in a Digital Marketing role.

  • 1 years’ experience in a customer service role.

  • Well-rounded knowledge of digital marketing, PPC (Google AdWords, Facebook) and Conversion Rate Optimisation.

  • Excellent understanding of Google Analytics.

  • Highly organised and process driven.

  • Exceptional customer service is key!

  • Confident in setting and managing client expectations.
